Roses & Raspberries
Sept 23, 2002

A bouquet of roses—the "Community Spirit" award—to El Camino High School teachers DeeDee and Bill Kovacevich and all the generous donors and volunteers who made it possible for them to build a $24,000 fitness center at the high school for disabled students. Bill Kovacevich teaches physical education at El Camino and his wife is a business teacher there. One year ago they decided to try to raise the money to equip a weight room designed for students who use wheelchairs, walkers or are otherwise disabled. The Oceanside community responded in a big way. Oceanside-based Real Estate Renovations donated volunteers and expertise, Parsons Brinckerhoff Construction supplied a coordinator for the project, and donations came from individual parents and members of the community, from the parent group EC Pride, and from the San Diego Foundation the Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego and the Weyerhaeuser Foundation. Last week the Kovaceviches got to see the weight room opened up, fully supplied, and without a penny of public money spent on it. "It’s so emotional for me," DeeDee aid. "It’s really amazing how people pulled together to do this for our kids."

I want to take this opportunity to thank you and your wonderful crew of workmen for a fantastic job of modernizing my twenty year old kitchen. All of my experiences with your company have been positive and I would highly recommend you to anyone considering a home renovation project.

I would happily speak to any of your prospective customers about my positive experience with your company.

Bob Lentz has been doing work for our department, which manages real estate held in trust and probate, for several months. He and his company have been cordial, professional and prompt in their response to requests for cleaning and repair. From a small job to an emergency fix-it to a large repair, Bob and his staff have been willing and available and thorough. I like Bob’s work and manner and intend to continue hiring his company when we have need.

On behalf of the El Camino Baseball Program, I want to thank you for your donation of time, labor and materials to construct and pour a concrete pad behind the freshman backstop at the El Camino campus. Storing the baseball equipment at a secure location at the freshman field is a great convenience for freshman coach and his players.
